Dr. Máire Cleary

Dr Cleary is a GP with a special interest in Women’s Health and an Accredited Menopause Specialist.

Máire is a recognised British Menopause Society Accredited Menopause Specialist. She has advanced training in contraception and long-acting reversible contraception. She was awarded the RCPI diploma in Obstetrics and Women’s Health and has an Irish College of General Practitioners Certificate in Community Gynaecology.

Dr Cleary graduated from the University College Cork in 2006 with an Honours Degree in Medicine and qualified as a General Practitioner in 2011.

It was during this training that Máire developed a passion for Women’s Health. Throughout her career as a General Practitioner, she has cultivated a profound expertise in various aspects of women’s healthcare, encompassing menopause, gynaecology, and sexual health.

Máire established Mná because she wanted to provide women access to in-depth consultations, tailored to their specific needs. She is committed to providing the highest standard of care to women.

Dr. Brenda Moran

Dr. Brenda Moran


Dr. Brenda Moran is a BMS Registered Menopause Specialist and Portfolio GP with special interests in women’s health and sexual health. She graduated from University College Cork, 2006 (Hons). After working in hospital medicine, she commenced GP training and qualified in 2013. During her GP training, her passion for women’s health deepened, and she obtained additional postgraduate training by completing the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (UK) and the BMS/FSRH Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care. She was among the first clinicians in Ireland to obtain this qualification, completing advanced training at King’s College Hospital, London.

Since returning to Ireland in 2016, Dr. Moran has established three specialist services:
– In 2020, she founded one of Ireland’s first dedicated menopause clinics, Danu Clinic, at Mallow Primary Healthcare Centre.
– In 2021, she established a dedicated PrEP clinic at the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital, Cork.
– In 2023, alongside Dr Karen Soffe, she established the Complex Menopause Clinic Service at Cork University Maternity Hospital.

Dr. Moran is a BMS Trainer and contributes to menopause education and training for the Irish College of General Practitioners. She also regularly contributes to guideline development groups, research, and professional publications. She has presented widely on the topic of menopause. She is an active member of the Menopause Society of Ireland (MSI), where she was the inaugural curator of its acclaimed educational webinar series. She also previously served as a Board Member of the MSI.

Her aspiration is to support people to flourish throughout their reproductive and life transitions.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, the arts, and the outdoors. She is delighted to have joined the team at Mná Clinic in Killarney.

Triona Casey (Practice Nurse)

BSc Nursing Studies, Nurse Prescriber, NAMS Certified

Practice Nurse, Menopause & Fertility Nurse.

Triona graduated from NUI Galway in 2000 and spent 7 years in University Hospital Kerry. She then moved to Primary Care and enjoyed 18 years of practice nursing, where she gained a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of healthcare. Triona upskilled to become a nurse prescriber in 2018.

Her career took a different and exciting path in 2022 when she began to focus on Women’s Health and started working as a Menopause Practitioner.

Triona has a keen interest in Women’s Health and preventative health and is truly passionate in empowering women through a holistic healthcare approach.
